Licensing overview​

PhotoFlowSEO uses a dual-license model:

  1. Gallery foundation (src/js/) — MIT License (built on PhotoSwipe by Dmitry Semenov)
  2. PhotoFlowSEO AI SEO features (src/pro/) — Proprietary license under LICENSE-commercial

When you need a commercial license​

You need a PhotoFlowSEO commercial license to access:

  • AI-powered alt text and caption generation
  • Automatic ImageObject schema emission for SEO
  • License validation and gating features
  • Priority support and updates

Community edition (MIT) is right when​

  • You only need the base PhotoSwipe lightbox functionality
  • You don't require AI SEO features
  • You're comfortable with MIT's attribution requirement

How commercial licensing works​

  • Purchase a license key at photoflowseo.com/checkout
  • Install photoflowseo from the private registry using your key
  • Add your key to initialization to unlock AI SEO features (local validation with 14-day offline grace)
